Weird Poetry

Your breatheturns of verse

Make my lungs yawn

With odes and elegies that need more than just air

To breathe.

Not even a single word from you

Could gasp into me

Without forcing me to my knees

To gouge at the ground

With broken nails

And bloodied hands.

It feels like trying to catch a breath

That was never meant for me.

I can’t explain

The empty

And the fullness I feel,

Or the weight and light

Of you.

All I know

Is that your words

Are what will be the end

And the beginning

Of me.

***I don’t know what I am even going on about. I think much poetry comes from our most hidden self… I’m learning. But my hidden self is even hidden from me….***
