The Deep

Weird Poetry

She told me to

Never mistake poetics

For the light.

She said that

Pretty words can harbour

Barbs laced with bracken,

And they will lull you under the opaque skin

Of the muddiest river,

And call you into the deep.

She repeated with fervour,

Never mistake poetics

For the light

If you want to get out of life alive.

***I like this new peanut gallery section. Keeps me laughing at myself, and not taking myself too seriously.***

***If things sound darker lately, that’s because they are. My oncoming “moon time” ravages me emotionally, but such is life with an annoying uterus. Sorrynotsorry if “woman’s issues” offend. But I’m totally not at all sorry.***
