Understanding Lunation

Weird Poetry

Lunation is

The workings of the pearl-sheen moon

From wax to wane to watchful sleep,

From sliver to full to sliver once again,

Then she hides

From dark to light to dark again,

Peeking out from behind the umbral cloak of heaven.

Lunation is

Birth to being to death to rebirth —

In three syllables and a sigh.

    1. You’re most welcome. I just discovered the word last week. It inspired me. I have another poem coming up with another new word I learned. Hint: starlings. Let’s see if you can guess what it is….
